How to Build a Simple Bridge and Stairs in Tiny Glade
From the instant I began exploring this beautiful diorama builder, I was drawn in by its creative toolset and the buildings I could construct. So far, I can build a simple bridge, a cottage with stairs, and other basic structures. I am still learning and hopeful that someday I will be able to build complex structures. Like me, if you have just started playing Tiny Glade and want to learn the basics, then you should first read this walkthrough and guide. After familiarizing with the toolset, it’s time to learn our first build: Stairs.
Quick Access
Terraced Steps
We will start with building simple rocky steps on a hill. Looks beautiful, especially with a cottage perched right on top of it:

1. On a flat terrain, use the elevation tool to create a small hill. To increase the ground level, hold the left mouse button over the crosshair and drag upwards. You will see arrow controls when you move the cursor over a build.

2. Choose the path tool. Move the slider to the left to decrease its width. Create a path along the rocky part of the hill, upwards to create terraced steps.

3. Now build a cottage on top of the hill. Right-click on the cottage to reveal all arrow controls. This way you can use them to move the structure and adjust the length/width of the house. Using the crosshair, move the cottage near the edge of the hill in such a way that its position is aligned just above the terraced steps.

4. Choose the first window tool to build a small door. Move the cursor to the lower part of the house and the window will automatically turn into a door.
This is the outcome of a hill with terrace steps and a house perched on top of it.

In the next tutorial, I will show you how to make simple stairs outside the cottage.
Stairs

1. From the bottom toolset, choose the house tool. Select the cozy cottage building and create one on the ground.

2. Move the cursor over the cottage roof until it turns into a crosshair. Hold the left mouse button and drag downwards to decrease the height of the roof. Do this until the roof turns into a terrace.

3. Right-click on the roofless structure. You will see all arrow controls that let you adjust the height, width, and length of the structure. You can also rotate and move it.
4. Since this structure will be used as stairs for your cozy cottage, make sure you increase its width and length using the arrow controls.
5. Hold the left mouse button on the arrow displayed over the top of the structure and drag it downwards to make it lie flat on the terrain:

6. Choose the path tool and draw a path straight onto the structure to create two small steps.

7. Use the arrow control that appears on the top of the structure, hold the left mouse button, and drag upwards to increase its height. You will see more steps appearing.

8. Build a second cozy cottage. Don’t forget to right-click on it to reveal all arrow controls. This is needed to properly adjust and align it on top of the first structure. Make the cottage a bit flatter as shown in the below screenshot:

9. Place the cottage at the top of the structure, then use the arrow keys to adjust and align it to blend. Leave some space to have a small verandah above the stairs. You may also have to adjust the length and width of the first structure, so right-click on it to reveal the controls.

10. Choose the window tool. Select the first window and create a door on the lower part of the second cottage. Additional items, such as a ladder or barrel will automatically appear beside the door.

11. Use the palette to change the colors/pattern of the stairs and the house above it.

Bridge

Building a simple bridge in Tiny Glade is not so difficult. You will need water, elevation, and a house to create one. Here’s how:
1. Use the water tool to create a stream on flat terrain. I created a narrow water body, but you can increase the width by moving the slider to the right to increase the width.

2. Choose the elevation tool and build a ridge all around the stream.

3. Place the cozy cottage right in the middle of the stream.

4. Go roofless! Place the cursor on the roof and hold the left mouse button to drag it downwards to get rid of it.

5. Right-click on the structure to reveal all arrow controls. Very important step as it will allow you to adjust the width and length. Make the structure a bit narrower and increase its length so that both ends meet the ridges.

6. Increase the elevation if you feel it is lower than the structure. The raised ground should be on the same level as the structure.

7. Use the path tool to clear grass around the mound. With the same tool, you can also create steps on both ends of the structure by drawing over the edge of the structure.

8. Choose the fence tool to create gates. See screenshot:

9. Use the path tool again to create a tunnel at the bottom of the structure. You just have to hold the left mouse button and drag the path toward the solid structure to create a tunnel.

That’s it. Your bridge is ready!
