Fields of Mistria: 7 Tips to Make More Tesserae
I am back with my favorite cozy game and this time we will learn how to make more money in Fields of Mistria. Tesserae, the in-game moolah, can be used to purchase seeds, tools, upgrades, and other items from the town’s general store and other shops. You can also use it to upgrade tools, expand your backpack, and unlock new features. Making more Tesserae should be one of your prime objectives if you want to progress through the game. Here are some way ways to obtain them in this game:
1. Gather resources and sell them through the shipping bin
When I began playing Fields of Mistria, the first thing I did was explore the town and use my trusty “worn sword” to forage for basic resources. All I had to do was move closer to the grass, and small bushes and click the left mouse button to cut them.

There are higher chances of obtaining fiber and hay from grasses and bushes scattered across Mistria. Hay costs 5 and fiber costs 2 tesserae. But you may also obtain grass seed while slashing grass and small bushes. The grass seed costs 5. The best part is that grasses respawn after a few hours, so you can continue gathering them and earn tesserae at regular intervals.
After gathering enough fibers, hay, and grass seeds, head straight to your home. There will be a “shipping bin” – a small wooden chest – right next to your house outside. Move near the shipping bin and press “E” to open it or press “G” to directly store items for selling.

Drag and drop all the resources you have gathered from your inventory to the bin on the left. Now go to sleep, in your house. In the game, not irl LOL!

Balor will pick up your resources and leave your payment overnight. When your character is asleep, you will see a summary of the items you sold. Click on Next Day to make sure the payment gets credited to the total Tesserae amount in the top-right corner of the screen.

You have your basic sword with you right from the beginning, but you will need more tools to salvage wood, stones, and other resources and sell them for profit.
On day 1, Go to sleep. On day 2, you will get the worn axe from Eiland. You must complete a simple quest to get the worn pickaxe from Olric. Use the axe to chop down logs lying on the ground to obtain wood and the pickaxe to extract stones from small rocks. Both wood and stone cost 2 tesserae each.
2. Harvest Flowers

While exploring Mistria, you will come across colorful flowers. You can easily identify them – move closer to a flower and see the “E- Harvest” command on the bottom left. Press E to harvest a flower and then sell it in the shipping bin.
3. Look for Quests at the Request Board
Some quests grant tesserae, so make sure you keep an eye on villager requests at the request board in the town, north of your house. Here’s where you can find the request board on your map:

The very first quest requested by Adeline grants 100 tesserae. It’s quite easy – introduce yourself to all the townsfolk. Take the help of the map to locate everyone. Meet the grayed-out people icons on the map to start your quest. Meet all 22 residents to get your reward.
Not all quests will grant tesserae as rewards. Some may grant crafting items or tools. You can sell duplicate items via the shipping bin if you have plenty of them.
4. Check your Mailbox Daily for New Quests
Your mailbox contains letters from villagers. It’s on the right side of your house. An envelope floating above the mailbox suggests you have a new mail from a villager.
Press E to open your mailbox and read the letters. They might be a quest or meetups. Make sure you follow the directions in the letter and meet the villager to know more about the quest. You may get tesserae upon completion of the quest.
The “Museum Donations Wanted” letter is one of those quests that grants 100 tesserae upon completion. Meet Errol at the museum, talk to him, and get your 100 “stipend” from him.
5. Earn Renown to Get Tesserae as Reward
Completing village requests is a great way to earn money and equipment, but did you know that you can also earn “Renown”?
Renown helps to level up your town and improves your town rank. Every time you complete a quest, you gain renown and your town gains a level. You can also earn some renown every time you sell your resources through the shipping bin. Here’s what you should do:
1. Finish a quest from the request board or sell items.
2. Go to sleep in your home
3. Wake up the next day to see your town earn “renown”. The more renown you earn, the better the chances of leveling up. You will earn more renown if you complete a quest from the request board or the mailbox. Your town gains a level when the renown bar fully fills up.

As soon as your town gains a level, a new reward will be available in the reward chest. You can find this chest on the left side of the request board in the town. The rewards you get will be random – you might get tesserae, a new accessory, or a crating item. The chances of earning money are more when your town levels up.
You can view your town’s current level and rank. Click on the journal in the lower-right corner of the screen. In the info box, you can check your town rank and current level.
Click on your current rank to learn how to rank up. You will need to reach certain levels to increase your town rank. Gaining a new rank will help Mistria enjoy more popularity and more support from the capital.
6. Buy the Cheapest and Fastest Growing Seeds for Quick Profits
You can grow crops on the empty field opposite your house. You can read our Getting Started guide to know more about basic farming. You will get the tools from NPCs when the game begins, so you can start farming right away.
You must buy seeds from the general store to start growing crops. I have marked the location of the town general store in the screenshot:

If you have just started and have fewer tesserae, make sure you buy only the cheaper, fast-growing seeds. You need fast money, so you would want to grow those that are not only cheaper but also have a quick growth time so that you can sell them as soon as they are harvested.
In the spring season, Turnip Seeds and Dafoddil Seeds are two of the most affordable crops that grow faster than other crops. Turnip seed is a fast-growing spring crop that grows in 4 in-game days. It costs 25 tesserae and the selling price is 40.
Dafoddil is a fast-growing flower. Its seed costs only 15 tesserae, but the flower can be sold for 25. It will take 4 days to grow daffodils.
Check back often for new crops being stocked up in the general store. Make sure you visit the general store in every new season to find the cheapest and the fastest growing crop.
P.S. You may also obtain seeds by completing certain quests in the request board and the mailbox.
7. Catch Fish
Fishing is another great way to make Tesserea in Fields of Mistria. All you need is a fishing rod, which can be purchased from the Tackle Shop on the beach. Here’s our quick fishing guide if you want to learn about catching fish for profit! Make sure you put your prized catches in the shipping bin to sell them to Balor.
