Tiny Pasture Guide: Tips to Get Started
Tiny Pasture is one of the cutest cozy games that can be played in the background while working. The game sits right at the bottom of your desktop while you write, edit, code, or just watch YouTube videos. It brings a cozy farm right at the bottom of the screen. You will own cute pixel animals like foxes, alpacas, capybaras and even weird creatures like zombies and slimes. Before you begin playing, here are some tips to make your desktop idle pet experience even more enjoyable:

Table of Contents
The Basics
Tiny Pasture has a collapsable menu that can be expanded by clicking on the wooden arrow on the farm shed on the extreme right side of the game.
After expanding the menu, you can see a few options, such as:

- Shopping cart:
- Help (? Icon)
- Home Icon
- Map Icon
- Settings (Gear Icon)
Click on the shopping cart icon to buy food for your desktop pet. Your starter pet will be a cute bunny. In the shopping cart menu, click on the items section, scroll down a bit, and purchase food for your pet. Note that you will have a limited number of coins in the beginning, as shown in the farm shed. Choose the cheapest food. It’s carrots – it only costs 5 coins. You can purchase them directly by clicking on the carrot icon below the total coins board. Purchase some carrots and then click on the pasture to drop them for your bunny. She will hop and quickly eat all the carrots scattered on the field. To stop dropping food on the pasture, right-click anywhere on the game screen.
Animals grow up at some point in time, provided you keep feeding them at regular intervals. Make sure you keep their surroundings clean by removing poop. Just click on the poop to remove them from the pasture. You can also breed animals to make cute babies in Tiny Pasture.
Your pets drop coins when clicked repeatedly. Each animal takes time to earn coins for you. Your starter bunny, whether young or adult, generates 4 coins per minute. But some animals may earn more coins for you in their adult phase. Read my next guide to learn how to unlock all animals in Tiny Pasture.
Animals can store a certain number of coins. Also, they can store their earnings for a certain amount of time. Excess coins will drop. Pay attention to the bag of coins above a pet. Click on the pet to collect the earnings stored by your pet. If you don’t click, your pet will drop them at some point in time. Don’t worry, all coins will be collected automatically. Your starter bunny can store up to 21 coins.
Do This to Make Sure Your Pet Doesn’t Stop Earning Coins
Tiny Pasture is an idle game, so expect regular earnings from your pets. But they will stop earning coins if they are hungry or unhealthy.
To know your pet’s hunger and health levels, click on the arrow icon near the farm shed to expand the menu. Next, click on the house icon below the shopping cart icon.
Click on a pet’s profile picture to know its stats.

Keep the Fullness Level “Full” (Pun Intended)
The fullness level meter shows whether your pet is hungry or not. Check the fullness meter from time to time. If the meter goes down less than 50 percent, it indicates that your pet is hungry. You can also see the spoon and fork icon above a pet. A hungry pet’s health will go down at a faster rate.
Feed carrots, the cheapest food source to your pets. One carrot costs only 10 costs, but will increase hunger levels marginally. Different types of food from shopping cart increases fullness level at a faster rate. A carrot only increases fullness level by 5, but a cabbage provides 10 fullness.
An animal’s health meter should remain stable:
– The health bar should be full. An animal’s health decreases when it is hungry or when the environment’s dirty. A dirty environment means too many poop scattered throughout the pasture. You should be quick in removing the poop from time to time to keep the environment clean. Just click on poop to remove them.
When the animal’s hunger level is full and the environment is clean, its health will be restored gradually. Your pet’s health can be recovered at a faster rate. All you have to do is go to the shopping cart, click on the items menu and under “Treatment” choose one of the three treatments available. The cheapest one is the pill. A single pill costs 50 coins and provides 10 points of health to your pet.
Desktop Mode Settings and Adjustments
Click on the arrow to expand the farm shed. Next, click on the gear icon to open the settings menu.

Open the “Adjust Game Window” setting. You will notice a new window, directional arrows, and + and – buttons on the screen. You can not only adjust the game/UI size but can also move it to the desired location.

Click and hold the crosshair in the middle and move the game anywhere on the desktop screen. Click on the “+” and “-” to zoom in on the game. The default size is too small, so I prefer a slightly bigger view of the game, and the best way to do this is to click on the “+” button to increase the overall game size.
Two arrows on the extreme left and right side of the game let you increase the width of the pasture. If you don’t want a wide-angle view of the game just hold one of the arrows and move it inwards to decrease the the pasture width.
There are also granular adjustments that let you adjust the game height and width, horizontal and vertical positions. You will notice a new window with additional adjustments when you click on the Adjust Game Window setting:
1. Width: Allows you to adjust the pasture’s width with precision. While the arrows on the far left and right of the screen also modify the width, this option provides finer control, letting you make small incremental changes.
2. Horizontal Position: This lets you move the game horizontally. You won’t notice any changes until you decrease the pasture width. Once you decrease the width, you can click on the “-10, -1, +10, +1” numbers to move the game to the left or right side of the desktop. Alternatively, you can also use the directional arrow control button to move the game to the left or right.
3. Height Position: Another granular control setting that lets you adjust the game’s vertical position. It doesn’t increase the height but rather lets you move the game upwards or downwards. Clicking on the -10 and -1 numbers will let you move it down. A simpler way to do this is to use the directional arrow button to move the game upwards or downwards.
4. Size: Click on the “+” and “-” button to increase the size of the pasture. It not only increases the size of the farm but also increases the size of all animals.
5. UI Size: Increase the UI setting size, so all settings menus will appear bigger.
Note: You can’t just move the game to the desired location while playing. You will have to access the settings menu > adjust the game window to do this.
