How to get the Pickaxe in Fields of Mistria

In Fields of Mistria, the pickaxe is a handy tool to break small rocks. They can’t be broken down using your handy sword or the axe. Here’s how to get the pickaxe:

Using the pickaxe to break smaller rocks

Visit Adeline in the town located in the north of your home. If you can’t find her, press M to open the map and look out for the pink-haired NPC on the map in the town. Talk to Adeline, she will introduce you to the “Request Board”. This is where villages post their requests. Complete them to receive rewards. Check the screenshot below to know where the request board is:

On Day 2, revisit the request board. Move near the board and press E to view villager requests.

You will find two requests under the “Available Quests” section. Click on the “Do a Bro a Favor” quest. Don’t forget to accept it.

The quest objective is straightforward: Talk to Olric to get the pickaxe from him. Yes, that handsome bloke Olric! I can’t wait to mingle with him. Sigh!

Olric can be found in and around the blacksmith’s shop. He might be roaming around the town but will usually be near the blacksmith shop or inside the shop. I have marked the location of the blacksmith on the map below:

Move closer to Olric and press “E” to “Turn in request”. Click Turn In in the quest box that pops up on the screen.

Olric will take you to his shop and give you the old worn pickaxe. It can not only break small rocks but also can be used to excavate dig spots.

To get a stronger one, you will need to forge it or buy one from the blacksmith’s shop.

Congratulations, you have completed the quest and now have a pickaxe to break those small rocks in your field. You can also forage stones by breaking the rocks and then can sell them to earn tesserae.
