Urban Jungle Game Guide: All Plants

Urban Jungle is a cozy plant sim game with puzzle elements. The story mode follows a young woman’s journey and her love for plants. The play unfolds across 11 chapters, each offering a glimpse into Aita Borisova’s life. As you decorate her living space with plants, you also uncover her journey from childhood to adulthood —her triumphs and struggles, her relationships with her mother, brother, colleague, and the love of her life.

The game is designed to be stress-free and relaxing. Your objective is to place plants in Aita’s cozy living space, keeping their requirements in mind. You just can’t keep plants anywhere in a room. Some plants need sunlight and humidity, others don’t need them. Some may require only sunlight or humidity to grow in small spaces. If you place a plant in a place that fulfills its light and humidity requirements, you earn points in the form of “Leaves”.

Urban Jungle Guide

You should also consider a plant’s “Special Needs” to maximize your points. Placing a plant next to its friend plant will further increase your leaf score.

Along with strategically placing plants to collect points, you will also be completing simple tasks to get coins. Some of these tasks are finding and arranging items in one place, locating lost items, unpacking boxes, putting things together in a box, and discarding items in a dustbin. Spend coins to purchase uncommon and rare plants from the nursery. In the next section, we will learn more about the game UI and plants:

How to Play

Game Menu and UI Tutorial

1. Click on the green button on the bottom of the game screen to get new plants. In the beginning you can obtain max 2 plants, but as you progress through chapters and place plants as per their requirements, you can get more than two plants.

2. Place plants according to their specific needs. Plants have three needs

  • Light (Sun Symbol)
  • Humidity (Water Droplet)
  • Special Requirements (Star Symbol).

Drag and drop a plant in a space but make sure you follow this before placing:

Plant symbols glow when kept in the appropriate space.

3. While placing plants in a particular area, pay attention to the sun, water droplets and star icons above them. When these symbols light up, it means you are chosen the correct spot for placing them. If a plant needs light and humidity, the sun and the water droplet icons will glow up if you place it near a light source and humid environment. Bonus if there’s a friendly plant near it – it fulfills its “special requirement” i.e. star icon. More on friendly and enemy plants later.

P.S. Some plants may not require sun or humidity, so the icons will be a cancelled sun symbol and a cancelled water droplet symbol. If you place such a plant in a dark/non-humid environment, the cancelled symbols will glow.

4. Common plants are free, but you will need to spend coins to purchase uncommon and rare plants. Based on its rarity, a plant gives more or less points. Higher the rarity, more points can be scored.

When you click on the green button on the bottom of the screen, you can see a list of plants. The points earned from a plant is displayed just beside its name, as seen in the screenshot below:

List of plants to purchase.

The points you earn will also be based on how much needs are been fulfilled by a plant. If you have a plant that needs light and humidity, and place it near a light source and humid environment + near a friendly plant, it fulfills all three needs and you will earn max points. But if any one need is unfulfilled, you will get less points.

Example: A plant with a total score of 15 requires light and humidity. Placing it near a humid, but dark environment will only earn you 5 points.

You can also earn points by completing tasks. Tasks are displayed on the upper-right corner of the screen.

Tips to Get Started

Here are some useful tips to get started with Urban Jungle:

1. Use the reroll button if you want to change the current plant list. When you click on the green button to get plants, you will find a small reroll button on the lower-right corner of the plant list screen. Click on this button if the current list is repetitive or does not have a rare or uncommon plant. You might find a new set of plants, including rarer ones.

2. While holding a plant, right-click to return it back to the inventory.

3. This game focuses on indoor plants, meaning most of them will need to be placed within a small apartment. Look for lamps and humidifiers in a room. The lamp is a light source and the humidifier creates a humid environment. Plants that need light and humidity should be placed near them. You can also move the lamps and humidifiers in and around an apartment. Try to move them in an empty space and place all plants near them to fulfill their needs and earn more points.

I have gathered information on the following plants. I will update this table as soon as I unlock new plants. I have replaced the word “Loves” and “Hates” with “Friendly” and “Enemy” plants respectively. You can place friendly plants together and keep enemy plants away from them.
