Tales of Seikyu: Walkthrough and Guide Center
Tales of Seikyu is a cozy farming life sim that lets you explore a charming island full of interesting characters. Start your new life in an old farmhouse, grow your farm, learn fishing, talk to island residents, and befriend them. Use your shapeshifting abilities to battle enemies, explore underwater areas, and soar high through the skies. There’s so much to do in Tales of Seikyu, and we’re only just getting started with this walkthrough and guide.
Quick Access
Game Modes
You start your adventure by choosing one of three game modes:
1. Story Mode: Focuses on story wth minimal combat.
2. Recommended Mode: Balance of story and combat
3. Challenge Mode: Story + Hard combat
As a cozy gamer myself, I found Story Mode to be the best way to enjoy the game at a relaxed pace. If you are a cozy gamer like me, Story Mode is the perfect choice for a laid-back and relaxing experience. If you change your mind later, you can freely switch between game modes from the Settings menu.
Character Customization
Next comes character creation. You can customize your character’s hairstyle, hair color, skin tone, lip color, eye color, and facial markings using a variety of presets. Make sure you Switch Form to choose between male or female characters before choosing presets. After making your choice, Confirm to unlock the next customization option. Tales of Seikyu’s character creation screen also allows you to zoom and rotate the view for a detailed look at your character.
I went with long red hair for my character in this walkthrough. Doesn’t she look gorgeous?

After customizing your character, Press “Save” to advance.
Day 1
During my conversation with Kon on the houseboat, I chose the following dialogue options:
1. Do you have any more food?
– You forgot to say please (teasing my little sister)
2. If I don’t make it… A true hero… *sigh*
– Of course. There will be a statue of you!
3. You know what? I think I am just nervous… Are you nervous? I wonder what Seikyu is like.
– I am excited… no expectations.
4. Also, we can’t forget why we are going to Seikyu!
– To find out more about mom and dad. Or For adventure… and excitement!
For the remaining dialogue choices, feel free to pick whichever options you prefer.

Talk to Seabert. Choose “Excuse Me?”
When he asks your name, use the in-game keyboard to enter your name. Mine? It’s Lilly!

The next step is to set your birthday. Pick a season and a day. I went with Autumn 7 for my character.
When Mayor Yui Oda greets you and Kon, she makes it clear that she wants to help you both get settled first.
After you finish speaking to Mayor Oda, you will gain +5 gathering skill, and a new item, Scrap of Paper, gets unlocked.
Follow Mayor Oda on a tour of Seikyu. Your current objective is displayed on the right side of the screen, while the town map can be found in the top-right corner.
Talk to Torleone at his Fish ‘n’ Tackle shop. Move near the NPC and press your interact button to start a conversation.
When Torleone says that Seikyu is perfect for fishing, choose “Oh, we don’t know how to fish” from the dialogue options. He will tell you to visit him again to learn fishing.
Follow Mayor Oda until you reach Ritsuryo. Here, you will learn your first basic combat lesson. He proposes a challenge against “Daruma”. Don’t worry! It’s just a practice dummy meant for training. Choose ” I CHALLENGE DARUMA” from the dialogue to begin:
Basic Combat Training
A new item, Yokai’s Wooden Sword, will be unlocked during this tutorial. It’s a basic training weapon that grants +2 Attack.
This brief tutorial covers the melee combat mechanics. Follow the on-screen instructions on the right side to learn how to equip your weapon and perform different attack types:

According to the basic tutorial, there are three types of melee attacks: plain attack, jump attack, and charge attack. Press the jump button first and then the attack button to perform the jump attack. Press and hold the attack button to charge attack. Don’t forget to “lock onto” the target before attacking.
After the combat tutorial, Ritsuryo gifts you a “Ninja Bubble”, a popular Soda. When consumed, it grants +30 HP Regen and +30 Energy.
Talking to Seikyu Residents
Follow Mayor Oda to explore the “shopping street”. There’s Miss Ama’s tailor shop, where you can buy costumes, and Sasaki’s Furniture studio that features lovely bespoke furniture.
The next quest requires you to talk to the town residents. You’ve already spoken with four of them, so you only need to talk to four more to complete the quest.

Move closer to an NPC and press the talk button to interact with them. While exploring the shopping street, I talked to:
– Shuten, “proprietoress” of Shuten’s Tavern and guardian of Ritsuryo and Kinntarou. Sasaki, the owner of Sasaki’s Furniture Studio. I even went inside his furniture shop to catch a glimpse of items he is selling. Once I start earning in-game cash, I may buy furniture from him to decorate my house. And yes, he is CUTE!

– Hephaestus, the blacksmith. His forge is being renovated right now, so I guess I will have to come back to see it when it’s ready.

– Kababa, the owner of the new Seikyu Casino, and Anna, the waitress.
After completing this quest, head to the bridge and speak with Mayor Yui Oda. If you’re having trouble finding her, open the map and use the Mark feature to place a waypoint near her location.

Marking will make navigating to your destination much easier. First, zoom in, then place a marker. Exit the map, and while exploring, you just have to look at the map inset on the upper-right corner of the screen.
Selling Items to Musashi
Follow Yui to your new home. Move closer to the cat (Musashi) to pet him and wake him up. The cat quickly transforms into a human form.
A new Quest, Dream Home, will be unlocked. Talk to Musashi. Yui gifts you a strawberry cake:

Musashi runs a general store in town. He buys and sells almost everything. Put items in the shipping box, and he will buy any item you leave in there overnight. Just put any item, go to sleep, and he will buy that item and leave money for you in the morning.

Basic Crafting: Making a Thatched Bed
The next quest is called A New Life Begins. Find the entrance to head to the farmhouse interior.

In your house, you will find only one bed. Kon needs her own bed. To craft one, collect some thatch. Once you have collected 10 thatch, you can craft a makeshift bed.
In this quest, go outside your farmhouse. You will find thatch near your house. Move closer to a thatch to collect it. Thatch is a common natural resource and can be used in packaging, crafts, and construction.

While collecting thatch, I stumbled upon a new item: Celery. It’s a sword-like vegetable. Rich in fiber, it helps you stay active in tough battles. It grants +4 HP regen and +6 Energy.
After collecting 10 thatch, enter the farmhouse. Access Crafting by following the on-screen prompt:

In the crafting menu, under Furniture, select Thatched Bed and press the Craft button to make one.

To place furniture, follow the on-screen prompt to open the furniture menu. Select the Thatched Bed from the radial menu and place it in an empty spot inside the house.

Before confirming its placement, rotate the bed so it faces the desired direction.

Move closer to your bed and press the Sleep button to sleep on it. You have completed the quest.

Go back to the Request Board to take up a new side quest. This time choose the “Important” one –

User Interface and Quick Access Slots
Before we begin the day, let’s take a look at the game’s user interface:

1. At the top-left is the health bar (red), the stamina bar (blue), and the total amount of gold you have earned so far. Stamina decreases whenever your character performs some action, whether it’s fishing, farming, chopping down trees, mining, or fighting enemies. HP decreases when your character takes damage from enemy attacks. If your stamina bar is completely depleted, your character will collapse from exhaustion, fall asleep where she is, and wake up back at home.
2. There are three quick-access slots at the lower-left corner of the screen – 1. Weapons/Equippable Items, 2. Yokai Form, 3. Consumables.
1. The first slot lets you equip weapons and other items, such as a fishing rod. Press the button shown on the left side of the weapon slot to choose an equippable item.

2. In the second slot, you can choose a Yokai form. More on forms later in this guide.
3. You can restore both your Health and Stamina by eating food. Your consumable items are located in the lower-left corner of the screen, in the third quick-access slot (see the screenshot below). All consumables you collect while exploring can be accessed from this slot:

To select a food item, press the button shown on the left side of the consumable. Once selected, you have to press the button shown on the right anytime while exploring to eat and restore your HP and Stamina. Before consuming, make sure you know more about a consumable from the Inventory menu.
3. Shows the in-game day, time, and day.
