Bao Bao’s Cozy Laundromat Guide

Being an idle game, Bao Bao’s Cozy Laundromat focuses more on growing and expanding a cute Panda’s laundromat business. The game reminds me of the scene from the movie Everything Everywhere All at Once, where the protagonist owned a laundromat. Like the movie, you will have lots of washing machines and dryers. You will also be hiring pandas to manage your business.

Like most cozy idle games, you can decorate your laundromat with plants and decor. The game can be resized into a small window, allowing you to play in the background while working. Just starting out? This guide will help you get familiar with the basics:

How to Play

Click on the menu (three dots) in the bottom right corner of the screen. Purchase a washing machine from the “Washing Machines” section and click on the space to place it. Washing machines are divided into older top-loaders and new generation front-loaders. The new gen machines will wash clothes a bit faster.

In both previous and new generation washing machines, purchasing the higher-priced ones would be a nice upgrade if you want a faster and efficient machine. The higher-level machines will earn more coins per wash.

After purchasing the washing machine, get a dryer and place it near the machine. The first panda moves quite slowly, so make sure you place them side-by-side so that it becomes a bit easier and quicker for the slow panda to operate them.

Like washing machines, dryers are also categorized into older and new gen, with newer gen earning more coins per drying.

You earn coins after every wash and dry. Higher-level washing machines and driers will earn you more coins per wash/dry.

Once you earn 13K coins, you can hire a panda for your laundromat business. The first one is way slower than the second panda.

You can zoom in and zoom out by pressing the “+” and “-” buttons. Use the arrow keys to navigate.

As you earn more coins, remove the clouds to expand space. Spend 2K coins to do this, but the number of coins will increase with every expansion.

You can also place plants, a cat, and some decor items. To place plants, click on the menu and then click on the third tab to get a list of large and small plants. Scroll down a bit and you will find other items, such as table fans, wardrobes, and benches. AFAIK, plants and items do not affect your earnings.

In the same tab, if you scroll further down, you will find separators to have your cozy garden beside sthe laundromat business, laundry baskets and vending machines. I didn’t find laundry baskets to be of any use other than decor purpose, but if you know if its or some use, then please post your comments.

To have a pet cat, click on the second tab and under cats, you can purchase one for 2000 coins.

Always Have Them in Pairs

Having a washing machine and dryer in pairs will always make you more money. Let me explain how this works:

The panda will first put the dirty clothes in the washing machine and then put the same wet clothes in the dryer.

As soon as the dryer finishes its job, the panda will pick the clothes from the dryer and put them in the folding station, earning 30 coins.

If you place only a washing machine and don’t pair it with a dryer, the panda will pick up the wet clothes and put it directly in the folding station, earning only 10 coins.

Place Fewer Washing Machines and Dryers in the Beginning

Start with Three Pairs of washing machines/dryers. You will earn a lot of coins with fewer pairs. I earned around 4K coins in a few hours with only two washing machines and two dryers. You don’t need a lot of machines to earn high, as the first panda is quite slow in managing the laundromat business.

As you progress, you can purchase higher-level washing machines and dryers to expedite the clothes-washing and drying process.

Machines can Malfunction

One big reason why you should have fewer machines and dryers is that some machines can malfunction. Once a washing machine or a dryer conks out, the panda will take time to repair it.

After repairing, it will take some more time to clean water spilled on the floor. If you have multiple machines and more than one breaks down, the panda will take longer to fix them, slowing down your earnings.

Place 1-2 Vending Machines

In Bao Bao’s Cozy Laundromat, a Panda needs to recharge by eating bamboo shoots, and the best place to get fresh bamboo and leaves is the vending machine.

Click on the menu (three dots) in the lower-right corner of the screen and then click on the third tab on the left side of the menu. The third tab features all kinds of decor, furniture items, and plants. Scroll down until you find the vending machine section. The cheapest one costs 1000 coins.

Place the vending machine in a space. When the panda feels hungry and tired, she will approach it for a snack. Eating bamboo shoots and recharging takes some time, but once she’s full, you’ll earn 10 coins.

How to Move Washing Machines and Other Items

You may have noticed that you can’t move a washing machine directly by clicking on it. But there’s one way to move it. Click on the menu in the bottom-right corner of the screen.

Under the washing machines section, click on the dustbin (edit) icon.

You will now see all items will have the same dustbin icon on the game screen. Click on the icon on an item and move it to the desired area.

Click on the area again to place it. To remove the dustbin icons from all items, right-click on an empty space.
