Just Crow Things: Walkthrough and Guide
Just Crow Things got me engaged right at the title screen. At first, I was struggling to start the game. There was neither the cursor nor arrow keys to navigate through options. Took me a few retries until I saw the keyboard control hints in the bottom-right corner. I pressed and held the spacebar and lo and behold the crow flitted momentarily. Then all I had to do was make it fly and land on the “Start” box to begin playing. The fun start screen puzzle was the moment that sold me on this game.
Controlling the mischievous crow using WASD/Arrow keys and the spacebar was easy, but the missions were quite chaotic and fun. The game has 12 worlds. Each world has several unique quests. Meet animal friends, accept their missions, and finish them to get “Crowputation” – points earned as rewards. Try finishing all quests to reach 100 crowputation and you will unlock a new world. In this Just Crow Things guide, I will walk you through each mission and provide helpful tips to complete them. As I keep completing quests, I will update it with new levels.
Quick Access
Controls and the Map
Use the WASD keys to control the crow. Press the spacebar and W together to make the crow take off in the forward direction. If you want to turn back, just press and hold the spacebar and S key together. Press and hold the spacebar and press the A or S key to turn left and right respectively. Move near an item and press E to pick it up. For tools, pick up a tool first and then press Q to use it.
Swooping can be fun, but you should know when to use it. Press and hold the spacebar and then press the CTRL key to swoop when you are close to a human to snatch or irritate him. Press C to poop. You can see white splats on the top-left corner – these are the poops remaining to be used. Once you have used up, either look for fruits and special items, such as glowing chilies to instantly restore poops or wait until they restore automatically.
Press the Tab key to open the map. The map is displayed on the top-right corner of the screen. Here’s a breakdown of symbols found on a world map:
- Blue Arrow – Crow’s current location.
- Yellow exclamation Mark – Missions. With the help of the map, fly to a mission location and step into the glowing yellow circle to start a mission.
- Purple wrenches – Tools. Pick up a tool and press Q to use it.
- Blue flags – Race points. Once you activate a race point, finish it at the target time to score points.
- Yellow door – Exit. use the exit door once you score 100 crowputation.
In all screenshots in this walkthrough, always look at the blue arrow on the map to know the location of your current mission and other areas.
Quaint Town
Collect Shiny Gold Trinkets
Meet Peacock to get your first mission. Land on the circle with the yellow exclamation mark to know the mission objectives.
We have an easy mission on our hands. Fly around and find shiny gold trinkets. Explore the town to find and collect 3 coins, a chalice, 1 bowl, and a key. Bring them back to the peacock and put them in the appropriate boxes.

Here is the location of all the trinkets and some tips to find them:
Note: You can find the map on the top-right side of the screen. Press the Tab key to open it. The blue arrow on the map shows the current location of the crow near a gold trinket.
Coins: Find hoomans carrying briefcases. Fly over them and press C to poop on them. They will drop a few coins on the ground and flee. While flying over someone, pay attention to the crow’s shadow and press C when the crow’s shadow is just above a hooman. You can pick only one item at a time, so pick a coin and bring it back to the peacock. Move near the box named “Coins” and press E to drop the coin in the box. Now return to the same area where the coins were dropped and pick the second one.
Chalice: Here’s the location of the chalice on the map. See the blue arrow on the map, in the screenshot.

Key: Check the map’s screenshot below for the key’s location. Fly to that area. You will see a man wearing a red hat, holding the key. Fly above him and press C to poop on him. He will drop the key.
Tip: Press the CTRL key to swoop into a hooman to make them drop an item. Fly near and swoop and snatch it off their hands. Swooping into any object will allow you to pick it up, but it shouldn’t be too heavy.

Bowl: Find the bowl in the map, as shown below. The blue arrow shows where it is located. A man with a broom will be guarding it. Poop on him and he will run away. You can then pick up the bowl and bring it back to the pigeon.

Fat Cat
Save the poor cutie mice from the fat cat. The mice are trapped on the roof and can’t come down. Use fish to lure the cat under a leaky pipe.
The “Fat Cat” mission can be found in this area check the blue arrow on the map in the screenshot below:

Talk to the scared mice. They are trapped on top of a restaurant’s roof. Kitty is right below waiting for them to climb down so that he can feast on them.
Fly down and press E to grab a fish from the small table. You can see four orange fishes on the table, right below the restaurant roof.

Grab a fish and fly a bit farther away from the cat. Press E to drop the fish on the ground and the cat will be lured towards it. Make sure the fish dropped on the ground is in the cat’s line of sight.

Before he comes near the fish, grab the fish again and drop it a bit farther and he will be drawn towards it again. Keep doing this until you lure him towards the leaky pipe. Drop the fish under the leaky pipe as shown in the screenshot below. The cat will follow the trail and try to eat the fish but will be repelled by the water and run away. Always check the map to know the location of the leaky pipe, as shown by the blue arrow:

Birthday Ruiner

His beautiful home has been taken over by the hoomans. You can see them partying across the street. Ruin their birthday party and help poor porcupine get his home back.
There are multiple objectives in this mission. Fly at the birthday party just opposite the roof, on which the porcupine is seeking shelter, and pop 14 balloons, poop on 3 hoomans and destroy the radio:

To pop the balloons just fly at them and hit them. Fly above hoomans and press C to poop on them. And finally, fly above the radio and poop on it to destroy it.

Blown Away
Meet Porcupine’s brother in this location. Check the map (inset, top-right) and find the blue arrow to know this creature’s location:

While the porcupine’s case was genuine and he needed help, his brother is quite naughty and enjoys troubling hoomans! He wants the crow to poop on 5 cars and blow away hoomans with briefcases just for fun.
To blow away hoomans, you will need a blower which can be found here:

Move near the blower and press Z to grab it. Now find hoomans with briefcases, move near them, and descend on the ground. Press X or Q to use the blower on them.

When using the blower to blow them away, ensure you are very close to a human with a briefcase.

Pooping on cars is easy. Fly and explore the quaint town to find cars scattered throughout the map, fly above a car and press C. Do this for all 5 cars.

Meet PonyHawk for Race Mini-Game
Meeting Pony Hawk triggers a race mini-game. Complete a set of 4 races to earn crowputation per race. You can find Ponyhawk in this area:

After talking to Pony Hawk, look for blue flags on the map. These blue flags are race points, displayed as blue rings in the game. Move in a blue ring and press E to activate the race mode.
In each race, you must fly through all blue-colored checkpoints as fast as possible. Reach the target time to earn trophies and crowputation.
You will find such races at every level, so keep an eye on those blue flags on the map/blue circles in the game.
In Quaint Town, the four race modes are quite diverse and fun:
In the first race mode, fly through each colored checkpoint. Follow the blue line trail on the ground and reach the end. Reach a target time of 22 seconds to earn max computation.
In the second race mode, you must drop on each blue circle checkpoint. No flying through checkpoints in this mode, which means releasing the space button to let the crow drop on the blue circle. Do the same for other circles until you reach the end. In this mode, the minimum time target is 29 seconds and max is 72 seconds. Complete the race as fast as possible to earn maximum crowputation.
The third race mode is quite fun. All you have to do is fly above each blue circle on the ground and poop on them, You can see the poop silhouette on each blue circle. keep pooping on blue circles until you reach the end. The minimum target time is 8 seconds and the maximum is 20 seconds.
The fourth race is flying through multiple hoops of blue circles. You will be flying up through multiple hoops and flying down. The target time is the same as race 3.
Once ready to exit, head straight to Peacock’s location and land on top of the empty next to exit this level.
Ancient Egypt
Just Can’t Wait to be King
A clowder of cats wants to assert their dominance as they feel they are unloved. The only way to do this is to bring the pharao’s headdress to the orange kitty (It’s always the ORANGE CAT!). Anyone who does that will be handsomely rewarded.

Your objective is to knock the headdress off the Pharaoh, grab it, and bring it back to the orange cat.
This is where the pharaoh lives (See the blue arrow on the map):

When heading towards the pharaoh’s palace, I noticed that I could not fly higher. This made this mission even more difficult as I was an easy target for the palace guards. They guarded the pharaoh’s palace and whenever I flew above them, I was attacked. One big advantage of being attacked was that I could fly higher when struck by their spears.

I waited for my moment and when I saw the pharaoh alone in his palace, I flew above him and pressed C to poop. This knocked off his headdress. Now the big challenge was to grab the headdress as the guards rushed in and started attacking. The only way to avoid them is to poop all over the palace. The guards will slip over bird poop. As I kept them busy slipping on my precious poop, I quietly descended and picked the headdress.
Bring back the headdress to the cat.

But the mission doesn’t stop here. Soon after the orange cat dons the headdress, you must carry him to the palace.

The orange cat is the new king and it will rain cats when you drop him into the palace.

Big Masculine Momma
Bored eating veggies, momma cat wants to grow bigger and so needs some fish. Bring some fish from the market.
Find the Momma cat here:

You can see fish hanging from the drying rack on the right side of momma cat’s house:

Fly into the fish to drop it on the ground. Pick it up and bring it back to the cat.

Watch her grow into a huge muscular kitty and earn your crowputation!
Finding the Magic Lantern
The magic lantern in Just Crow Things can magically turn day into night and night into day. Just drop it and see!
Meet the hoity-toity magpie in this area:

He isn’t very fond of the crow and has hidden a magical lantern past the tornadoes, in a secluded place.
Pay attention to the exclamation mark beyond the great pyramids. This is where the magical lantern will be found:

Avoid the tornadoes by flying along the edge of the palace walls. If you are hit by a tornado, it will toss you up and throw you out of the pyramid area. If you see one approaching you, fly back until it moves away, and always move along the palace walls.
Once you reach that spot where the exclamation mark is, you will find a strange-looking sphinx-like structure. There’s a cat on top of it, carrying the magical lantern. She has trapped the Sun in the lantern. Talk to her to know its secret.

Dropping the lantern too low to the ground will magically turn day into night. Drop it on a building to switch back to day. Press E to carry the lantern and bright it back to the bazaar.

Keep it in a safe place, possibly on top of the terrace of a house so that it won’t turn into night. But if you drop it on the ground, it will become dark and nighttime will fall. If you close the game and come back later, the lantern will be back in the same area, so you will have to go and bring it back to the market.
The magic lantern will help you complete 1-2 missions at this level.
Jewels and Gems
Talk to the white cat near the pier, as shown in the screenshot below:

Bring back 5 of his jewels and put them in the bag near him. In this mission, use the magic lantern to find the last two jewels. Here are the places where the jewels are hidden in plain sight:
Jewel #1:

Jewel #2:

Jewel #3:

For Jewel #4 and #5, pick the magic lantern from a safe place and drop it on the ground. You will find the remaining two jewels in these areas. They can be found only at night:

Jewel #4:

Jewel #5

Every time you carry a jewel, make sure you drop it in the big bag near the cat.

Ancient Pranks
The striped cat, found in this area, has a weird mission for you:

Catch and put 4 frogs into 4 separate clouds. Frogs only come out at night, so drop the lantern to the ground to turn day into night and then start the mission.
Frogs can be found along the seashore.

Move near a frog, and press E to grab it. Fly to the nearest cloud in the sky and drop the frog into it. Do this for three more frogs, make sure you put them in separate clouds.

After putting all 4 frogs in 4 separate clouds, pick the lantern from the ground and drop it on the roof of a building to turn night into day.

It’s raining frogs, Hallelujah…
Release the Goats
Fly to this area to meet another kitty. She has a nice little Pied Piper-esque mission for you:

Somebody put her goats in a pen. Free them into the market using the trusty flute.
First things first, get rid of those pesky hoomans guarding the pen. Poop on them, especially the one blocking the gate.

When they flee, the gate opens and all goats are set free. You will now have to lead them to the market.

Take the flute kept near the cat. Press the X or Q key to blow the flute while flying towards the market. The goats will follow you.

When you finish this quest, you will achieve 100 crowputation! You can exit this world or finish one final mission to get more points.
Legend of the Tomb
The final quest is a bit tricky. There are two puzzles to solve in this mission.
Fly to this place. There’s a treasure hidden on the other side of the door. You will notice two symbols engraved on the tomb door – the sun and the crescent moon. Here’s how to solve this puzzle:

Take the magic lantern and drop it close to the stone steps. As the lantern tumbles down the stone steps, get close to the door ASAP. It will revolve, pushing you right inside the tomb.
Unfortunately, there’s no treasure in the tomb, according to Mr. Sad Skeleton. Also, you are trapped. But there’s a way out.
Put four objects on all four circular platforms in the tomb. when you put an object on top of a circular platform, it exerts pressure on the platform.

As soon as you put an object on the fourth platform, a tornado appears in the middle. Fly at the tornado and it will toss you up and out of the tomb.
