Two Cozy Beekeeping Games I am Playing Right Now
I always wanted to have my own beehive without the sting. And guess what, I found two beekeeping games on Steam! The first one lets me manage my apiary, breed different kinds of bees, explore biomes to discover new specifies, and learn all about them. The second game is more of a cozy idle game that lets me collect bees, decorate hives, and dress up these cute honeymakers with accessories. Check them out here:
APICO
APICO was my first beekeeping sim game, and I loved everything about it. Still love it! It’s as cozy as it can get, as it allowed me to find and collect a variety of bees at my own pace. Not only could I collect them, but also breed them to get new species. There are more than forty new species that can be discovered through cross-breeding and the game also lets you find and conserve solitary bees by crafting new habitats for them. I loved the bee conservation part as it allowed me to learn more about lost species of bees, allowed me to repopulate them, and release them back into the forests. With new biomes to explore, discovering new species was so much fun!

APICO offers some very unique beekeeping and crafting minigames. It’s a complete sim game as it also lets you make honey from the apiary and sell it for profit. Not only can you produce honey but also beeswax, resin from trees, and a special drink called “APICOLA” that provides special abilities to your character. So there are some fantasy elements, along with real-life apiculture-inspired game mechanics that make game progression fun and exciting. It has pixel art graphics, so if you love cozy pixel-art games, then you must download APICO.
Time is Honey
I stumbled upon this new beekeeping game on Steam. It was released in July 2024 and is an idle game. Time is Honey lets me manage various bee hives, collect cute pixel bees, and nurture and feed them. As bees grow, they produce more honey, thereby increasing profits.

Time is Honey has more than 150 unique bees. Inspired by gacha mechanics, the game lets me acquire them by opening bee packs. With tier-based rarity, I can get a random common, rare, or legendary bee from a pack. I can also customize bees with several new accessories, thanks to accessory packs that contain cool trinkets and decor items for bees. Oh did I tell you the hives can also be customized? You can decorate your hive with stickers and color them with your choicest pastel shades. It’s a fun, relaxing idle game, although not as comprehensive as APICO, but still quite playable.
Do you know any beekeeping games across various platforms? I found two on Steam, but what about Switch, Android, and iOS? Lemme know in the comment section below.
