[Cozy Saturdays] Little Kitty Big City Review: Tiny Cat Big Adventures!

Cats and cozy gaming go hand in hand. A cozy game without adorable kitties is like a garden without flowers. But what if an entire cozy game is dedicated to a cat? Well, indie developers Double Dagger Studio have created something like that –  a game revolving around a curious kitten’s adventures.

Little Kitty Big City

In Little Kitty Big City, you will step into the tiny paws of a cute cat who accidentally falls out of a high-rise apartment. Lost in the big city, she must find a way back home. On her adventures, she meets several characters, including a smart crow, a lazy orange cat, ducklings, a quirky raccoon-like animal that will help you teleport using various manholes, an angry shiba inu, and a talking chameleon. You must help her return to her home by interacting with these characters and completing quests.

While the main quest is all about bringing back the cute cat to that high-rise building, several side quests will keep you busy for some time. It’s a short game if you only focus on the main quest, but side-quests make the game longer than you can imagine.

Side quests augment the exploration part of the game. You will be exploring a lot to find lost objects, shiny trinkets, and whatnot! Since you are a cat, finding them won’t be too difficult as you will be climbing trees, and ledges, jumping into boxes, and rummaging garbage bins. I loved the Duckling quest, as I had to explore a lot to find those adorable ducklings and get them back to their parent. Oh and did I tell you you can steal smartphones from innocent bystanders only to finish a quest given by a talking beetle? The fun part is that you can keep stealing phones by tripping hoomans and have your huge phone collection.

The game doesn’t have a very high replay value, but you can freely roam the big city once you have completed the main quest and all side quests.

Visually, Little Kitty Big City stands out with its distinctive art style. The game perfectly captures the hustle-bustle of a Japanese city while maintaining a very anime-like graphical approach. The characters, especially the kitties are so endearing, especially with their cute big eyes and expressive faces. The game utilizes a vibrant color palette that oerfectly complements the playful tone.

Little Kitty Big City is a light adventure game that offers a delightful experience. Seeing the world through the perspective of a kitten was never this engaging and endearing at the same time. There are a few such games that allow you to play from an animal’s perspective, such as Just Crow Things and a new game called Garden Trills. You can wishlist the latter and can even download and play the demo.

Even if you are not a cat lover, you will love every bit of this game. It’s relaxing, cozy, and a perfect game to spend your lazy Saturdays. The game is available on Steam and is also released for the Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and the Xbox Series X/S.
